Alliston Minor Softball Association is for children ages 4 to 14
 
T-ball - Boys and Girls ages 4 to 6
Junior Softball – Boys and Girls ages 7 to 10
Intermediate Softball – Boys and Girls ages 11 to 14
 
  • T-Ball:
    • Non-competitive fun time, teaching the basics of softball/baseball and becoming a team player.
    • T-Ball games are played Monday nights from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.
    • The season starts the week following the May long weekend.
    • The only equipment required for T-Ball is a glove. T-shirts are supplied thanks to our sponsors.
    • There is a “T-stand” at home pate which the team at bat takes turns knocking the ball into the field.
    • The Team in the field is arranged around the bases and along infield to catch the ball and throw to the bases.
    • Players receive their photos, a trophy and celebratory snacks at the end of the season!
  • Junior Softball:
    • A little more competitive with the focus still on learning softball and baseball skills and having fun.
    • Junior Softball is played Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm with no new innings starting after 8:00 pm.
    • Each team has a practice date during the week as well.
    • The season starts the week before the May long weekend.
    • Practices normally start in early May, depending on the individual coaches.
    • The only equipment required for softball is a glove and long pants for games (shorts are fine for practices). T-shirt jerseys are supplied thanks to our sponsors.
    • There is a tournament week, this being a round robin playoff schedule. There is one game on a Wednesday and two Games on the following Saturday. This is followed with a lunch and trophy and player photo presentation.
 
  • Intermediate Softball: 
    • ​Builds on the skills from Junior Softball, with a focus on having fun.
    • Intermediate Softball is played Thursday nights at either 6:30 pm (with no new innings starting after 8:00 pm) or at 8:15pm (with no new innings starting after 9:45 pm).
    • Games are played at Gibson diamond.
    • Each team has a practice date during the week as well.
    • The season starts the week following the May long weekend.
    • Practices normally start in early May, depending on the individual coaches.
    • The only equipment required for softball is a glove and long pants for games (shorts are fine for practices). T-shirts jerseys are supplied thanks to our sponsors.

Times and locations are based on previous years. All items are subject to change based on permits, enrolment and other issues outside of the control of the AMSA.

Picture Day – There is a picture day for all players, usually early-to-mid June. These are the photos that are distributed to the players at the end of year game/tournament.

Coaches – are always needed! Each team needs a coach and an assistant coach(es). High school students requiring there community service hours can assist the coaches (please contact a member of our Executive team for assistance with this).

Sponsors – The ALLISTON MINOR SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION operates because of sponsors. As a sponsor of AMSA you will be helping support softball for children ages 4-14 in New Tec. Your investment fee will purchase T-shirt jerseys for a team (with your company name), a sponsorship plaque with team picture, as well as Trophies.
